When Life Changes and Friendships Last ❤️
In my last post, we ended with the magnificent visit to Brad in Jupiter, Florida.
Since we were already booked at a Jupiter campground, we invited Brad for hamburgers and a cobbler around our picnic table.
Loved seeing him again.
While in Jupiter, I met Amanda from New Hampshire. She got my book, and now we will see each other in her neck of the woods on July 24th, 2024, when we return for the second part of our RV trip.
Fun fact: I wanted to get my hair done, and Kim from the next-door spot who had read my book before we met, volunteered to blow-dry my hair. Such a cool gesture.
Then we were off to Kennedy Space Center RV Park, where I had a selfie with a reader.
It was stormy and rainy at the Kennedy Space Center. So much for the Sunshine State.
We were anxious to get to Deltona to visit Dolores, the widow of Victor, the father of my friend Yris.
She came with her hubby Ron and their daughter Ness, who is funny, and did a natural stand-up comedy show.
We cooked dinner and had a bonfire; Dolores’ neighbors Nicole and Danny joined; we went to the beach, where you can park on the sand, and on Sunday, to the local park.
I knew Barry and Bella Freedberg from my Bellini days would be in Orlando, so we made plans to see each other for Chinese dinner. They liked Goren, and we had a fun evening.
My friend Melissa drove from The Villages with a bag of goodies and rolls of ribbons from the old Nava’s Designs stock.
But now hear this:
We were in a fish camp RV park in Crescent City, Florida. First time in my life I have been to a fish camp, a truly amazing place.
We got so lucky with a waterfront spot, number 11; if you ever go there, ask for Crystle!
The next stop will prove that no road is ever smooth. Hilton Head, South Carolina, where we were denied parking due to the fact we had an “advertisement” on our RV. So, my Caroline was looking for another spot to park her pretty face. Well, such is life! The next park was very happy to have us. We visited with a family relative, drove to the Savannah waterfront, and had dinners at our campground.
We drove to Charlotte, South Carolina, and then to Columbia to the stunning waterfront home of Phil and Kenny, Nava’s Designs customers back in the 90s and 2000s.
Phil is a chef; he made French-style pot roast and creamy potato casserole. I made a pastry puff, a salad, and a fruit cobbler. Such a perfect kitchen, all organized, and Phil had every silly ingredient I needed for my fruit cobbler. Their neighbor came, and we ended up playing a new card game, which left me frustrated as I lost all 7 or 8 games. We visited the store for pictures. But With my luck, it was rainy. The picture was not as perfect as I hoped.
Oh well, Nava, such is life!
We will see Maureen and Larry of Bellini Atlanta, which I will share in my next post.
It will be our last stop on part one before we leave for Tel Aviv next weekend. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I love RV living, and I am not even glamping, as so many think. We have a 25-foot class C motorhome; trust me, it’s not ״glamping״, but it’s true grand living! Seeing America the way we did and will do.
